Backsliding Freedom of Press in Kurdistan

Since the July 2009 parliamentary elections in Kurdistan, independent journalists in the region have been increasingly targeted for kidnap attempts, arrests and obstruction. In recent weeks these attacks have intensified across Kurdistan.
